Intro to Herbal Medicine
Participants will come away with an understanding of common herbal terminology and appropriate uses. Explore ways we can move away from the allopathic mindset of using herbs (ex: “echinacea is good for the immune system”), toward a paradigm that integrates whole, complex herbs with whole, complex beings. Learn what it means for an herb to be standardized and how to read between the lines of recent herbal studies, as we unveil some of the common herbal myths. While becoming familiar with traditional classifications of herbs, over a cup of tea, we will also begin to explore the concept of herbal energetics.
